1. Connect the mouse to a different port (External mouse)

Issues of the mouse being unresponsive in Windows has a reliable solution. Connecting it to a different USB port is the most common fix, to begin with. If your mouse connection is to a USB 3.0 port, you can connect it to a USB 2.0 port for better compatibility, whether you are using a wired or wireless mouse. For computers that have circular ports, known as PS/2 ports, unplug the mouse and connect it again, ensuring perfect alignment with connectors. 

2. Turn on the mouse 

When using a wireless mouse, You should check whether it is turned on or not. A wireless mouse has a hardware switch on the back that enables you to turn it on and off. You can also swap the existing battery with a new one and see if the mouse works on your Windows 11. 

3. Uninstall the mouse drivers

  1. Press Windows + R to open Run Window, type devmgt.msc then press Enter

4. Update the mouse drivers

  1. The mouse driver will be installed. Press Alt +F4 and reboot your PC.

5. Uninstall USB controllers drivers (External mouse)

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run prompt and type devmgmt.msc to open Device Manager.

  1. Look for Universal Serial Bus Controllers and press the right arrow key to expand the menu.
